Audible Smile
One could hear it. The sound was subtle, but there, apparent to an unhindered ear. One need not see her face, behold her vibrant visage, to know how she currently appeared. One might explain it as a shift in the wind, the way it seemed to dance rather than simply pass, as though enlivened by the powerful expression on her face. Another might describe it as a tickle in their ear, a pleasantly unexpected sensation that serves to lift a mood without the being even realizing the shift. Yet, another, might simply explain it as nothing more than an impression of light, both a greater vividness around them, and a sense of weightlessness that would seem to pervade the immediate vicinity. All such definitions would be correct, perceptions of those who experience the simple yet powerful anomaly. The effects are discernible to both eye and ear, yet the event itself is only perceivable to the ear. Her presence alone is not uncommon, nor is it extraordinary. In fact, though extremely beautiful, she seems so very ordinary. Only the rarity that she brings sets her apart. Her simple words are simply heard, and her normal cadence is regularly accepted. But, without a moments notice, and with beautiful imperceptibility, the change occurs, the air seeming to hum with satisfaction as her expression lightens, her beautiful features seeming to enhance into breathtaking splendor as her expressive lilt sighs past. The transformation of environment and mood are immediate, as the incomprehensible alteration occurs. Visible, yet invisible. Silent, yet loud as a summer rain. There, for all to hear, is her audible smile. Ω
