Descent

Like shattered crystals,
Reflecting the shards of the surreal
And unattainable world,
Do they fall.
Endless, the shimmering slivers
Of sorrow descend.
Never slowing, the diamonds drop,
Refracting an image of greater light.
Colored pools follow the descent,
Searching in vain for the euphoria of a world gone by.
The depths of the glistening sorrows
Are infinite, unfathomable.
Clear, yet betraying;
Transparent, yet unyielding.
Each transparent shard a dream,
A shattered desire.
Noiseless does it patter,
Yet life's agony emitting from its splash.
One gem for every piece
Of a destroyed heart.
From above fall new liquid sorrows
Clearer than all others,
Purer, flawless in composition,
Onto the fractured pulse,
The broken beating.
Pieces meld under the liquid fire,
Uniting once more the impossible puzzle.
One is healed by another.
And where two pools become one,
The reflection reveals the whole soul. Ω
