Encaged

Trapped.
Trapped in a cage;
A cage of bone.
She beats against her prison,
Slams against the bars.
Her soft form,
Tired and gasping,
Heaves to no avail.
No break appears,
No freedom comes.
Doomed to be imprisoned,
Cursed with futility,
Until her pulse stops,
And her throbbing anguish ceases
To plague her. Ω
